There may not be any major holidays during the month of August, but there’s still plenty to celebrate as we prepare to send the summer off in style. Scroll down to see the days we’ll be paying extra attention to this month.

Back To School Month
The whole month of August is Back To School Month, where parents, teachers, schools, and students can gear up for the coming academic year. Luckily we’ve got tons of back to school content in the app to help you prepare!

8/04 – Qixi Festival
The Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, is celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It commemorates the legend of star-crossed lovers, Zhinü , a weaver girl, and Niulang, a cowherd. This romantic tale has been celebrated since the Han dynasty! Head over to the “Valentine’s Day” template category in PicCollage to create a Qixi Festival card.

8/08 – International Cat Day
Obsessed with your cat? Well, then everyday is probably International Cat Day for you. (No judgement, we totally get it.) But it’s technically celebrated on August 8th, so it’s the perfect excuse for you to make a collage (or 100) of your feline fur baby. Head to the app for all the amazing cat content.

08/09 – International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples
Celebrate the incredible indigenous communities across the globe on International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. Use this free template to create a card that helps to bring attention to the challenges faced by indigenous communities today.
8/13 – International Lefthanders Day
Did you know that Lefthanders tend to be more creative and have a big advantage in sports? Celebrate the Lefties in your life on August 13th with this fun card available in the app!

8/19 – World Photography Day
How many photos do you have on your phone? We’re guessing a lot. Highlight your favorites on World Photography Day with ones of our many fun film-inspired templates. Just head to the template category in the app and search for “Films.”

8/26 – Women’s Equality Day
Celebrate Women’s Equality Day on August 26th, the day that commemorates the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (aka giving women the right to vote!). We used “Freestyle” mode to create this collage, but you’ll also find tons of great content in the app – just search for “Women” in the PicCollage store!
