7 Symbols of Luck for St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on March 17th and we are getting ready to celebrate by looking at the symbols of luck that are associated with this holiday. Scroll down to see these lucky symbols and how you can use PicCollage for all your St. Paddy’s Day collages!

keycap: 1 Find a 4-leaf clover

According to Irish tradition, each leaf of a four-leaf clover symbolize something different:faith, hope, love, and luck for the finder. Because of this tradition, and because they are so rare, four-leaf clovers are a popular symbol of good luck. See if you can find one this St. Patrick’s Day!

keycap: 2 Wear green

There are a number of reasons why green is worn on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a symbol of Irish nationalism and it also references the country’s lush landscape (it’s called the Emerald Isle for a reason!). Regardless of the reason for the tradition, we have TONS of green stickers and backgrounds in the app to make your creations as festive as possible.

keycap: 3 Catch a Leprechaun

Legend has it that if you catch a leprechaun, you can force him to tell you where he’s hidden his pot o’ gold!

keycap: 4 Catch a sight of a falling star

If you catch a glimpse of a shooting star on St. Patrick’s Day, be sure to make a secret wish!

keycap: 5 Hang a horseshoe on your doorway

Horseshoes have come to symbolize luck and security from evil. Hanging one on your doorway (or a collage of one!) is a great way to get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit!

keycap: 6 Follow a rainbow

Myth has it that leprechauns hide a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. So if you see one on St. Patrick’s Day, but sure to follow it to find this treasure!

keycap: 7 Pick up a coin

You may know the saying “Find a penny, pick it up. All day long you’ll have good luck!” When you see a coin on the ground, be sure to grab it and add it to your pot o’ gold!

Wishing you a happy (and lucky) St. Patricks Day! Be sure to share your collages on social media and tag us @piccollage so we can see your creativity!
