December is almost here are we are snow excited! It’s hard to believe that 2021 is wrapping up, but we still have a full month of festivities to keep us busy. While Santa’s making his list and checking it twice, we’ll be checking our calendars to make sure we’ve got every occasion covered with a collage. Here are the holidays happening this month along with some inspiration to create your own cards in PicCollage.
St. Nicholas Day – 12/06
St. Nicholas Day, or the Feast of St. Nicholas, is widely celebrated throughout Europe on December 5th or 6th in Western Christian countries. It commemorates the feast day of Saint Nicholas of Myra, whose legendary habit of secret gift-giving gave rise to the concept of Santa Claus or “Saint Nick.”
Christmas Card Day – 12/09
Yes, Christmas Card Day really does exist! The legend behind this fun holiday dates back to the 1800s when the first commercial Christmas card was created in England by Sir Henry Cole. Sending a DIY card is now easier than ever! Here are a few of our favorite designs that we’ve created for you this year. Check out our “Christmas – All” Template Category for more.

Las Posadas Begins – 12/16
Las Posadas is celebrated on December 16 – 24 each year across Latin America, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Spain, and some parts of the United States! Translated to “lodging” or “accommodation”, Las Posadas refers to the inn from the Nativity story. It is a 9 night celebration during which there is a party at a different neighborhood house each night. Before each get together, guests form a procession to mark Mary and Joseph’s search for an inn on the night of Jesus’s birth. The parties are joyous celebrations involving prayer, food, music, fireworks, and piñatas!
