Congrats to the graduating class of 2020! As Henry David Thoreau said, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.” You’ve worked hard to get here and we have no doubt that there are big things in your future.
But we’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that graduation 2020 is going to be different than past years. While there won’t be big ceremonies and crowded graduation parties, that doesn’t mean that you can’t make the day special for the grads in your life. We have a few fun ways to celebrate while social distancing.
Pretend You’re There!
Use this fun template we created to put yourself at school! Just follow these simple steps:
- Add your favorite photo of yourself
- Use the Cutout tool to remove the background of the photo.
- We have the cap + gown ready! Just position your photo in the template.
- Add a photo of your school – double tap, and choose Set as background.
Just open PicCollage and you should see this “Virtual Graduation” template near the top. You can also find this in the “Graduation” category in templates!

Host A Virtual Party
Chances are you’ve become well-acquainted with Zoom over the past few months. So why not use it to host a virtual graduation party? There are a few things to keep in mind when planning. First, create an invite! You can use one of the Graduation card templates in PicCollage or start from scratch by using the “Freestyle” option. We recommend checking out the “Graduation Party” background pack if you choose the second option!

Once your invite is sent out, start thinking about your outfit, background decor, food, and games you can play as a group! Lots of great tips here.
Make A Graduation Playlist
A playlist that captures the nostalgia and excitement of graduation is an absolute must when celebrating. We recommend including some classics like Vitamin C’s “Graduation“, Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten“, and Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)“. But don’t forget to include some more recent faves that you can dance and let loose to.

Make A Memory Collage
A scrapbook is a wonderful gift, but it can be extremely time consuming and takes a lot of supplies to make. If you are graduating and want to make something special for some of your classmates, creating individual collages is a great way to go. Choose your favorite photos and add quotes and stickers to help commemorate some of your favorite moments.

Gift A Words Of Wisdom Booklet
Create a gift that your grad will cherish forever with a “Words of Wisdom” booklet. Reach out to important people in his or her life (think parents, mentors, aunts, uncles, coaches, grandparents, etc.) and ask them to write down some words of advice they have. Create a simple collage with each piece of advice, print them out, and compile them in a simple booklet.

So congrats, grads! You did it! Take some time to celebrate your accomplishments and all the friends you’ve made along the way, and don’t forget to commemorate your cherished moments!
