How to Plan Your Valentine’s Day Outfit

For all the loved up couples out there, Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to get dressed up into something super cute that will have your partner swooning during a romantic dinner date, picnic, movie, walk along the beach, or any other fun activity you’ve planned.

And for all you single gals out there (myself included- holla), it’s a fun chance to get together with your gal pals and have an ‘anti Valentine’ date night (or party).
Half the fun of any outing is planning your outfit and getting dressed up. But with so many clothing options and accessory combinations, it’s hard to know which outfit to pick!

So before you start frantically shopping online and purchasing every item you think might be an option, how about you ‘try on’ your outfit first with PicCollage.

In today’s post, I am going to teach you my tips and tricks for using the app to plan your Valentine’s (or anti Valentine’s) Day outfit.

Did you Know you can use the PicCollage App to Plan Outfits?

PicCollage allows you to start with a blank canvas. You bring in the photos of outfit items you want to use, cut around the pictures using your finger and make a collage of your dress, bag, shoes and accessories. The end product is an entire outfit before your very eyes!

Click to shop: DressBeltShoesEarringsBag.

The app is also very intuitive making it easy to rearrange, resize, rotate and add effects.

I’ll go into more detail on the specifics of how to use the app a bit later, but first let’s take a look at some different outfits you might like to put together for this Valentine’s Day.

Outfit Ideas for Any Valentine’s Day Plans

1) Romantic Date Night

Dress: Fleur Du Mal, Earrings: Saint Lauren, Clutch: Judith Leiber, Shoes: Valentino.

Sizzle in a LRD- yes that is a thing! Choose a slinky, strappy, sexy red dress and go all out red head to toe! Don’t forget the red lips and voluminous hair.

2) Something a Little Fancier

Top: Carven, Pants: Michael Lo Sordo, Shoes: Alexandre Birman, Earrings: Christie Nicolaides, Clutch: Jeffrey Levinson.

You’re going out to the Opera or a new theatre show you’ve been dying to see. Why not rock some funky pants, a statement top and accessorize with metallic and jewels.

3) Low Key

Jumper: Marc Jacobs, Earrings: Hannah Zakari, Jeans: JBrand, Shoes: Alexander Wang, Bag: Moschino.

Perhaps you and your partner prefer to stay home and have a quiet night ordering Seamless and watching Netflix.

Sport a printed jumper or tee and ripped jeans for comfort. You can still get into the spirit with some heart shaped earrings or bag- or just order a heart shaped pizza!

4) A Cute Picnic for Two – This one only works if you live somewhere warm!

Dress: Petersyn, Hat: Prada, Shoes: Rupert Sanderson, Earrings: Oscar De La Renta, Bag

Who doesn’t love packing a picnic basket full of sandwiches, cheese, assorted dips, olives, chocolate and Champagne – or if you’re really going all out, cocktails!

Choose a cute summertime dress and accessorize with all the trendiest accessories like tassel earrings and a wooden bag. Complete your outfit with a straw boater and don’t forget your sunscreen 😉

5) Anti Valentines

Skirt: Derek Lam 10 Crosby, Top: Bambah, Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Clutch: Charlotte Olympia, Phone Case: Casetify, Earrings: Vanessa Mooney

So this year, all the single ladies have decided to hit the town! Spice it up in leather and satin! I love the many different ways leather skirts can be worn. You could even opt for a ‘Down with Love’ T-shirt, just to really get the point across.
